COL FB: Utah 48, Brigham Young 24

SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Brian Johnson completed 30-of-36 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns Saturday to lead seventh-ranked Utah to a 48-24 win over No. 14 BYU.

The victory enabled the Utes to win the Mountain West Conference championship.

Freddie Brown had eight receptions for 97 yards and Brent Casteel scored twice on six receptions for 60 yards for the unbeaten Utes (12-0, 8-0 MWC), who scored three touchdowns in the final quarter.

Brigham Young's Max Hall was intercepted five times while completing 21-of-41 passes for 205 yards. The Cougars (10-2, 6-2) failed in their bid for a third straight conference title.
