UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Daryll Clark's five touchdowns Saturday sent No. 8 Penn State to a 49-18 drubbing of No. 15 Michigan State.
Clark passed for four scores and 341 yards and ran for a fifth touchdown.
Penn State (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten) clinched a share of the conference title with Ohio State. Unless the Lions are ranked either one or two in the BCS standings, they will go to the Rose Bowl.
Since joining the Big Ten in 1993, the Nittany Lions have won at least a share of the Big 10 title three times: 1994, 2005 and now. The win is Penn State's 800th, becoming just the sixth school to win that many games.
Deon Butler caught three passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns for Penn State. Jordan Norwood caught five passes for 127 yards. The Lions totaled 419 passing yards, which is a school record.
Michigan State (9-3, 6-2) had its first nine-win season since 1999.
