TUCSON, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Justin Kahut kicked a 24-yard field goal as time expired Saturday, minutes after missing an extra point, to give No. 21 Oregon State a 19-17 win over Arizona.
The victory enabled the Oregon State Beavers to keep their Pac-10 title and Rose Bowl hopes alive.
Sean Canfield hit on 20-of-32 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown and Sammie Stroughter had five receptions for 116 yards and a TD in the Beavers (8-3, 7-1 Pac-10) sixth straight victory overall and seventh in a row in conference play.
James Rodgers rushed for 102 yards and a TD on 10 carries but his brother, Jacquizz Rodgers, was sidelined early in the game with a shoulder injury.
Oregon State upset sixth-ranked Southern California in late September and that game will serve as the tie-breaker if the two finish tied for first place in the Pac-10 standings.
