Iona had two shots in the final 15 seconds of regulation bounce off the rim.
Tim Jarmusz gave the Badgers the lead 1:21 into overtime with a jump shot, but Wisconsin could build no more than a three-point advantage in the extra period.
Wisconsin's Jason Bohannon missed two free throws with 7 seconds to go in overtime, leaving the Badgers with a two-point lead. Iona was unable to get its final shot to drop.
Wisconsin improved to 3-0 and Iona fell to 1-1.
