EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Jiri Hudler scored twice Thursday and the Detroit Red Wings fought off a third-period comeback attempt to defeat Edmonton 4-3.

Hudler's second goal, coming on the power play with 1:32 remaining in the second period, gave the Red Wings a 4-1 lead. That goal turned out to be the game-winner when the Oilers got tallies from Lubomir Visnovsky and Sheldon Souray in a span of 21 seconds during the third period.

Detroit won its second straight and has won nine of 11 on the road this season, the best mark in the NHL.

Chris Osgood stopped 31-of-34 shots for the win.

Dwayne Roloson surrendered three goals on 10 shots and was removed with 9:49 remaining in the first period. Mathieu Garon came on to allow just one goal on 25 shots.

Edmonton has lost four out of five.
