NEW YORK, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Guard Jamal Crawford has been traded by the New York Knicks to the Golden State Warriors for forward Al Harrington.

The deal was announced by the NBA teams Friday.

Crawford averaged 19.6 points and 4.4 assists in 11 games for the Knicks this season. He averaged 14.7 points and 4.1 assists a game over his nine-year NBA career.

Harrington, in his 11th season, averaged 12.4 points and 5.6 rebounds over five games for Golden State this season. He averaged 13 points and 5.8 rebounds a game in his career, which includes stints in Indiana and Atlanta.

He was drafted in 1998 by Indiana when Knicks President Donnie Walsh was with the Pacers' front office.

"I drafted Al back in 1998 and I think his talents are a great fit for our style of play," Walsh said in a release. This trade also gives us more long-term flexibility while enabling us to remain competitive this season."
