NHL: Washington 6, Anaheim 4

ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Tomas Fleischmann touched off an early three-goal outburst Wednesday and Alex Ovechkin had four points to give Washington a 6-4 victory over Anaheim.

Washington, which won for the sixth time in seven games, took a 3-0 lead less than 8 minutes deep in the first period and Ovechkin assisted on all three goals.

Fleischmann scored his seventh goal of the season on the power play 2:19 into the contest and Mike Green also produced his seventh at 3:54.

Nicklas Backstrom added a tally at 7:13, giving the Capitals three goals on three shots and driving Jonas Hiller out of the game. He was replaced by Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who eventually allowed three goals on 27 shots.

Anaheim battled back to within 3-2 by the end of the first period, but Ovechkin started another streak of three unanswered goals 2:43 into the second. It was Ovechkin's eighth of the year and was one of three Washington scored on the power play.

Jose Theodore gave up four goals on 32 shots to get the win.

The Ducks lost for the fourth time in five games.
