Arizona kicker among NFC weekly honorees

NEW YORK, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Veteran Arizona Cardinals placekicker Neil Rackers was among those earning NFC weekly players honors on Wednesday.

Rackers, in his ninth season from Illinois, was named the NFC's top special teams player following a 14-point effort in the Cardinals' 26-20 victory over Seattle. Rackers booted four field goals and two extra points.

Also earning NFC honors were San Francisco quarterback Shaun Hill (offense) and New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross (defense).

Hill, a seven-year veteran from Maryland, captured a player of the week award for the first time after completing 15-of-20 passes for 213 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions for a career-high 142.3 passer rating in the 49ers' 35-16 win over St. Louis.

He was the first 49ers' quarterback since hall of famer Steve Young to record a first half perfect passer rating (158.3).

Ross tied for the team lead with six solo tackles in the Giants' 30-10 win over Baltimore, and made two interceptions, one a 50-yard return for a third quarter touchdown.
