ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Marek Zidlicky scored the game-winner in a shootout Saturday night when the Minnesota Wild registered a 3-2 win over Columbus.
Regulation and overtime ended in a 2-2 tie before Zidlicky scored in the shootout's second round. Derick Brassard mishandled the puck while shooting for the Blue Jackets and Minnesota's Antti Miettinen capped off the win, putting a wrister past Columbus goalie Steve Mason.
Benoit Pouliot and Erik Reitz scored once each in regulation and Niklas Backstrom was credited with 24 saves on 26 shots for the Wild, who have won three of their last four contests.
Reitz's goal was the first of his NHL career.
Columbus got goals from Kristian Huselius in the first period, and Rick Nash (unassisted) in the third.
Mason made 28 saves on 30 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped two of three.
