EAST LANSING, Mich., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Seventh-ranked Michigan State spurted out to a 54-29 halftime lead Sunday afternoon on the way to an easy 100-62 win over outmanned Idaho.
MSU quickly built a 12-1 advantage and its season-opening contest was a laugher all the way to the final buzzer.
Chris Allen scored a career-high 21 points, and his three-pointer created the huge early advantage. Raymar Morgan also scored 21 points, Kalin Lucas had 13 points and nine assists, while Goran Sutton added 10 points in the Spartans' 35th straight non-conference home win, the third longest active streak in the country.
Idaho was led by Mac Hopson's 11 points, with four assists and three rebounds before he fouled out in the second half. Brandon Wiley, the only other Idaho player in double digits, scored 10 with eight rebounds for the Vandals (1-1).
