MONTREAL, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Goalie Martin Biron stopped 24 of 25 shots Saturday night and Jeff Carter scored the game-winner in the Philadelphia Flyers' 2-1 win over Montreal.
Scottie Upshall scored his second goal this season at 5:30 of the first period and Carter's 11th goal at 15:36 of the second -- after assists by Simon Gagne and Braydon Coburn -- was enough to allow the Flyers to snap their seven-game regular season losing streak against Montreal.
They last beat the Canadiens in the regular season Nov. 25, 2006, but beat them in the second round of the playoffs last season.
Alex Tanguay scored for Montreal at 9:44 of the third period.
Jaroslav Halak made 29 saves on 31 shots for the Canadiens, who have lost four of five.
Neither team scored on the power play on six combined man-advantage chances.
