
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- The defense of eighth-ranked Penn State surrendered just 180 total yards Saturday on the way to a 34-7 Big Ten Conference rout of Indiana.
PSU held a 10-7 halftime advantage, but fully established its dominance with a 17-0 third quarter.
Quarterback Daryll Clark completed 20-of-36 passes for 240 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also gained 26 yards on eight carries.
Running back Evan Royster rushed for 63 yards on 12 carries, while wide receiver Jordan Norwood caught a team-high seven passes for 69 yards for the Nittany Lions (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten), who are one victory away from at least a share of the conference crown and a BCS bowl berth.
Indiana scored on a 57-yard, first-quarter jaunt by running back Marcus Thigpen. He finished with 72 yards on eight carries for the Hoosiers (3-8, 1-6), who have dropped three in a row.
Quarterback Kellen Lewis went just 9-of-21 passing for 57 yards.
