TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Javier Arenas had an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown Saturday to help top-ranked Alabama post a 32-7 victory over Mississippi State.
Arenas had 153 yards on six punt returns, and set up a touchdown for the SEC West champions with a 46-yard return in the first half.
John Parker Wilson passed for 148 yards on 10-of-17 efficiency, while adding a rushing touchdown for Alabama (11-0, 7-0 SEC). Mark Ingram led Alabama with 78 yards rushing and Glen Coffee rushed for 71 yards.
The Crimson Tide will likely remain at No. 1 when the Bowl Championship Series rankings are issued Sunday. All that stands between Alabama and a shot at the national title is a Dec. 6 date with No. 3 Florida.
Tyson Lee passed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 11-of-28 attempts for Mississippi State (3-7, 1-5).
