COL BKB: Purdue 82, Detroit 50

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- E'Twaun Moore helped Purdue get off to a quick start Friday and the 10th-ranked Boilermakers coasted to an 82-50 decision over Detroit.

Moore scored 18 points and JaJuan Johnson had 17 while making six of eight shots from the field. Purdue recorded 25 wins last season before being eliminated by Xavier in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Detroit, which won just seven games in 2007-08, was led by Thomas Kennedy with 18 points.

Purdue rushed to a 40-22 halftime lead en route to its 16th win over Detroit in 17 meetings.
