SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Dan Ellis kept the Predators close with 54 saves Tuesday until teammate Ville Koistinen scored 2:28 into overtime for a 4-3 Nashville win over San Jose.

Koistinen scored on Brian Boucher with a blistering slap shot that sailed past the netminder's right shoulder.

Vernon Fiddler, Jason Arnott and Ryan Suter scored earlier for Nashville, which had lost three straight. Suter's goal with 6:27 left in regulation got the Predators to the extra session.

Ellis, who made 21 saves in the second period, allowed two goals by the Sharks' Devin Setoguchi and one by Rob Blake.

Boucher gave up the four Nashville goals on 29 shots.
