NHL: N.Y. Rangers 5, New Jersey 2

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- The New York Rangers scored four times in the second period Wednesday on the way to a 5-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

New York right wing Nikolai Zherdev scored twice, center Chris Drury had a goal and an assist, left wing Lauri Korpikoski scored once and fellow left wing Lauri Korpikoski picked up his first NHL tally.

Goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 30-of-32 shots for the Rangers, who won for just the second time in their last six contests.

They have won nine of their last 10 meetings against the Devils and both this season.

New Jersey got one goal and one assist from center Travis Zajac, and one goal from right wing Jamie Langenbrunner (power play).

Goalie Kevin Weekes started and yielded four goals on 25 shots through 40 minutes before his replacement, Scott Clemmensen, made 16 saves on 17 shots in the Devils' third loss in a row.
