BOSTON, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce scored 25 of his 37 points in the final 15 minutes Monday to lead the Boston Celtics to a 94-87 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

The Celtics improved to 7-1 for the season behind Pierce, who had only nine points in the first half.

Kevin Garnett added 21 points and 10 rebounds and Ray Allen scored 19.

Toronto's Jermaine O'Neal scored 19 of his 23 points in the first half. Anthony Parker had 15 points and Jason Kapono scored 14.

The Raptors held a 46-30 edge with 3:02 left in the first half, thanks to O'Neal and poor Boston shooting, with the Celtics missing 8-of-9 threes in the first half.
