VIRGINIA WATER, England, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Sergio Garcia, fresh off a victory at a tournament in Shanghai, has moved into the No. 2 spot in the latest world golf rankings.
Garcia won the HSBC Champions at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, beating Oliver Wilson on the second playoff hole, and moved past Phil Mickelson for second in the world rankings. Mickelson dropped down one spot into the No. 3 position that Garcia had last week.
Tiger Woods continues to own a healthy hold on the No. 1 spot. He's been the world's top-rated golfer for 521 weeks.
The middle section of the Top 10 remain unchanged, with Vijay Singh still rated fourth, followed by No. 5 Padraig Harrington, sixth-ranked Robert Karlsson and No. 7 Camilo Villegas.
Lee Westwood moved into the No. 8 spot, knocking Anthony Kim down one spot. Henrik Stenson, who was 12th last week, is ranked 10th.
