NHL: Edmonton 2, New Jersey 1

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Sheldon Souray and Ales Hemsky scored for Edmonton Sunday and the Oilers and goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers hung on for a 2-1 win over New Jersey.

Souray put the Oilers on the scoreboard with 12:41 remaining in the first period and Hemsky scored on a power play with 6:11 to go in the second.

Hemsky got an assist on Souray's goal and Lubomir Visnovsky was credited with assists on both Edmonton scores.

Zach Parise scored for New Jersey 3:30 into the third period.

Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers stopped 37 shots and New Jersey's Scott Clemmensen turned back 26.

The Devils have lost six of their last eight games.
