NHL: Atlanta 5, Carolina 2

RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Marty Reasoner scored twice for Atlanta Sunday, leading the Thrashers to their fourth straight win, a 5-2 decision over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Ron Hainsey, Jason Williams and Ilya Kovalchuk also scored for Atlanta, and goaltender Johan Hedberg was credited with 35 saves.

Carolina got the game's first goal, by Rod Brind'Amour, in a six-goal second period. Ray Whitney also scored for the Hurricanes but the Thrashers posted goals by Reasoner, Hainsey, Williams and Kovalchuk for a 4-2 advantage.

Reasoner put the game away in the third period with his second goal.

Carolina goalie Cam Ward allowed all five Atlanta goals and finished with 22 saves.
