MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Adrian Peterson overcame a late fumble to score the game-winning touchdown Sunday, lifting Minnesota to a 28-27 win over Green Bay.

The second-year running back scored on a 29-yard run with 2:22 left, and ended with 30 carries for 192 yards.

Earlier in the fourth, he lost a fumble on a fourth-down play, but added three catches for 33 yards.

Quarterback Gus Frerotte completed 15-of-28 passes for 151 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Running back Chester Taylor scored once on four catches for 84 yards, and wide receiver Sidney Rice caught a touchdown pass for the Vikings (5-4), who have gone 5-2 since Tarvaris Jackson, a third-year player was benched in favor of Frerotte, a 15-year NFL veteran. Minnesota now is tied with Chicago for first place in the NFC North.

Green Bay scored 14 third-quarter points when cornerback Will Blackmon returned a punt 65 yards for one touchdown and safety Nick Collins took a 59-yard interception for the other.

Aaron Rodgers completed 15-of-26 passes for 142 yards, but was sacked twice in the end zone for safeties as the Packers dropped to 4-5.
