NBA: Atlanta 89, Oklahoma City 85

OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson had 25 points and four steals Sunday and the Atlanta Hawks rose to 5-0 with an 89-85 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Hawks are off to their best start since going 11-0 to open the 1997-98 season.

Marvin Williams had 16 points and seven rebounds, Ronald Murray scored 14 points and had three assists, and Michael Bibby added 13 points and four assists for Atlanta.

The Hawks overcame a 41-38 halftime deficit in the opener of a four-game road trip.

OKC, playing its first NBA season after years in Seattle, got 20 points and four rebounds from Kevin Durant, but he also turned the ball over six times. Joe Smith had 14 points and nine rebounds.

Russell Westbrook scored 13, while Earl Watson added 11 points and six assists for the Thunder, who have started the season with five losses in six outings.
