COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Derick Brassard's second-period goal was the game-winner Saturday night when the Columbus Blue Jackets beat Calgary 3-1 for their third straight win.

Brassard's sixth goal this season, following assists by Mike Commodore and Jan Hejda, broke a 1-1 deadlock at 2:57 of the second period.

Columbus also got goals from left wing Jason Chimera (unassisted in the first period) and center Manny Malhotra (unassisted in the third).

Rookie goalie Steve Mason surrendered one goal on 23 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have recorded at least one point in six consecutive games (4
