
SHIMA MIE, Japan, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- South Korea's Ji-Yai Shin shot 6-under-par 66 Saturday and has a two-stroke lead through 36 holes at the Mizuno Classic golf tournament in Shima Mie, Japan.
Her two-round total, 10-under 134, tops first-round co-leader Mayu Hattori (69) of Japan.
Shin, 20, shot 34 on the front nine before sizzling from holes 10-18.
"I just brought my warm gear," she said after conquering Saturday's damp, chilly weather conditions.
"The rain was very cold, but the wind not much."
South Korea's Jee Young Lee and Japan's Shiho Oyama both shot 4-under 68 and share third place at 7-under 137.
Defending champion Momoko Ueda shot 2-over 74 Saturday, and is out of the picture at even- par 144.
Ueda won last year in just her fifth start on the LPGA Tour.
The event, being played at the Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club, is the LPGA's third straight in Asia, and its final tournament on the continent this season.
