Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson scored nine of his 24 points in the fourth quarter Wednesday, helping keep Atlanta unbeaten with an 87-79 victory over New Orleans.
The Hawks won their third game in as many starts and handed the Hornets their first setback of the campaign.
New Orleans came from behind to take a four-point lead going into the final period, but Atlanta held the Hornets to 17 points over the final 12 minutes.
This is the first time in 11 years Atlanta has won its first three games in a season.
Ronald Murray chipped in 14 points for the Hawks, who also got 11 each from Marvin Williams and Josh Smith.
New Orleans was paced by Chris Paul with 22.
Atlanta had lost to the Hornets three straight times.
