NBA: Boston 103, Houston 99

HOUSTON, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Ray Allen scored 29 points, including 11 straight in the fourth quarter, to propel the Boston Celtics to a 103-99 victory over Houston Tuesday.

Kevin Garnett had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Kendrick Perkins 15 points and seven rebounds,, and Paul Pierce 13 points and nine rebounds for the Celtics.

Tracy McGrady scored 26 points and Luis Scola had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Rockets, who were attempting to start the season with four straight wins for the first time since 1996-97.

Ron Artest added 15 points, but Yao Ming was limited to eight points and seven rebounds on 4-of-14 shooting.

The last time the Celtics played in Houston on March 18, they stopped the Rockets' 22-game winning streak.
