AVENTURA, Fla., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Greg Norman teamed with his 23-year-old son Monday to win golf's ADT Skills Challenge in Florida.

Gregory Norman Jr. knocked the decisive shot to within an inch of the hole to claim the final skill -- worth $250,000 -- for himself and his Hall of Fame father, giving them $290,000 for first place.

Rocco Mediate and caddie Matt Achatz won four of the eight skills competitions for $230,000. Mediate came close to holing his short-iron shot -- an outcome that would have given his team a landslide win -- but the ball lipped out, giving the Normans the win.

"There's always pride at stake," said the younger Norman, who has caddied for his father on numerous occasions, including this year's surprise run at the British Open.

Fred Couples and his longtime caddie, Joe LaCava, took third place with $155,000 in prize money that included $20,000 earned by Couples' 311-yard shot in the long drive competition.
