Sorenstam wins 89th title of int'l career

SUZHOU, China, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Swedish star Annika Sorenstam won the 89th title of her career Sunday at an event in Suzhou, China.

Sorenstam shot a 7-under-par 65 to force a playoff and then defeated China's Li Ying Ye to win the Suzhou Taihju Ladies Open.

The tournament is on the Ladies European Tour schedule.

Sorenstam said she had to "play the catch-up game" to win. Her final round included birdies on 14, 16 and 18.
