
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Carlos Boozer's 25 points and 10 rebounds Saturday night led the Utah Jazz to a 101-79 rout of the Los Angeles Clippers.
The win gave the Jazz a 2-0 mark to open the 2008-09 season. They turned the contest into a rout after a 48-48 halftime deadlock with 15-0 run in the last 4:54 of the third quarter.
Ronnie Brewer scored 16 points, Paul Milsap and Andrei Kirilenko had 11 apiece and Mehmet Okur added nine points with 10 rebounds for the Jazz, who continue to play without point guard Deron Williams.
He sat out with an ankle sprain.
The winless Clippers got a team-high 20 points from Cuttino Mobley. Tim Thomas had 16 points with seven rebounds and Mike Taylor added 13 points and four assists for the Clippers, who were without point guard Baron Davis.
He left the team's previous game against Denver with a left hip/tailbone injury.
