ATLANTA, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Jonathan Dwyer rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to lead Georgia Tech to a 31-28 victory over No. 16 Florida State.

Quarterback Josh Nesbitt rushed 14 times for 61 yards and completed 4-of-5 passes for 55 yards before leaving the game with an injury for the Yellow Jackets (7-2, 4-2 ACC), who have won four of their last five games.

Georgia Tech beat Florida State for the first time since 1975.

Lucas Cox and Greg Smith each had a rushing TD for Georgia Tech, but Tech's freshman backup quarterback Jaybo Shaw had an interception on his only pass attempt and lost a fumble.

Christian Ponder completed 16-of-27 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown for the Seminoles (6-2, 3-2), whose four-game win streak came to an end. Ponder also ran for a TD and Jermaine Thomas rushed for 130 yards.
