Pennington, Hope Jones top AFC players

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington was honored Wednesday as the AFC's offensive player of the week, the fifth time he has won the award in his career.

Pennington completed 22-of-30 passes for 314 yards and a touchdown, leading Miami past Buffalo, 25-16.

Tennessee safety Chris Hope was named top defensive player and Houston kick returner Jacoby Jones won in the special teams category.

Hope intercepted two passes and made four tackles in the Titans' 31-21 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Jones, who returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown in the Texans' 35-6 win over Cincinnati, was named top special teams player for the second time in three weeks.
