Soderling triumphant in Lyon Grand Prix

LYON, France, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Swede Robin Soderling battled to a three-set victory over France's Julien Benneteau Sunday to win the Lyon Tennis Grand Prix in France a second time.

Soderling prevailed 6-3, 6-7 (5-7 ), 6-1.

The 24-year-old Swedish player, who was seeded seventh, also won the Lyon competition in 2004.

Soderling had eliminated American Andy Roddick in the quarterfinals and Frenchman Gilles Simon in the semis.

Benneteau was seeking his first ATP title.
