MLS: Columbus 1, D.C. United 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Brad Evans' goal in the 77th minute Sunday gave Columbus a 1-0 Major League Soccer victory over D.C. United in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Evans took a pass from Frankie Hejduk and fired a shot that deflected off the goal post and into the net.

Columbus (17-7-6) heads for the playoffs, taking on Eastern Conference foe Kansas City Wednesday.

D.C. United (11-15-4) is done for the season.
