NHL: N.Y. Rangers 3, Pittsburgh 2 (SO)

NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Fredrik Sjostrom scored the game's lone shootout goal Saturday, lifting the New York Rangers past the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2.

After two scoreless rounds in the shootout, Sjostrom skated in and beat Marc-Andre Fleury on a forehand-to-backhand deke. Henrik Lundqvist then stopped Sidney Crosby's backhand offering to seal the win.

In regulation, Markus Naslund scored on the power play and assisted on Nikolai Zherdev's game-tying tally, both in the third period.

Lundqvist was beaten twice on 29 shots in the Rangers' sixth straight win against the Penguins on home ice.

Pittsburgh got one goal each from Darryl Sydor and Sidney Crosby.

Fleury surrendered two goals on 44 shots and the Penguins' three-game winning streak ended.

The Rangers went 1-for-5 on the power play, while Pittsburgh went 0-for-2.
