
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Roy Upchurch and Glen Coffee led a balanced Alabama running game Saturday to power the second-ranked Crimson Tide to a 29-9 win over Tennessee.
Upchurch rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and Coffee had 78 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, as Alabama (8-0, 5-0 SEC) remained perfect on the season thanks to a defense that allowed 173 total yards.
Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson rushed for a TD and passed for 188 yards on 17-of-24 completions. Julio Jones caught six passes for 103 yards.
Nick Stephens passed for just 137 yards on 16-of-28 attempts for Tennessee (3-5, 1-4). Josh Briscoe scored the Volunteers' lone touchdown as part of a four-reception, 46-yard performance.
Arian Foster led the Tennessee ground game with 21 yards on six carries.
