ST. LOUIS, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Running back Steven Jackson exploded for 160 yards and three scores on 25 carries Sunday in the St. Louis Rams' surprising 34-14 blitz of the Dallas Cowboys.
He reached the end zone twice in the first quarter, and later scored on a 56-yard, third-quarter dash.
Josh Brown kicked two field goals.
Quarterback Marc Bulger completed 14-of-19 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown, while the defense forced four turnovers, three on interceptions against Dallas backup quarterback Brad Johnson, playing for the injured Tony Romo (broken finger).
It was the Rams' second straight win under Coach Jim Haslett following a 0-4 start under the fired Scott Linehan.
Johnson completed 17-of-34 passes for 234 yards with one touchdown.
Volatile wide receiver Terrell Owens was held to two catches for 31 yards, while running back Marion Barber scored once on 18 carries for 100 yards for the Cowboys (4-3), who were without suspended cornerback Adam Jones.
