CHICAGO, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bears racked up their highest point total in 22 years Sunday, outlasting the Minnesota Vikings 48-41.

Kyle Orton passed for 283 yards and two touchdowns for Chicago (4-3), which got two touchdowns from its defense.

The Bears had not reached 48 points since they beat Tampa Bay 48-14 in 1986.

Marty Booker caught three passes for 79 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown. Greg Olsen and Matt Forte each scored for the Bears.

The Bears' defense turned a blocked punt into one touchdown and recovered a fumble and scored on another Vikings' punt attempt.

Gus Frerotte passed for 298 yards and two scores for Minnesota (3-4), but he was picked off four times.

The Vikings' Adrian Peterson ran for 121 yards on 22 carries and scored twice.
