Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Marc Turnesa closed with a 4-under-par 68 Sunday and won the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, his first title on the PGA Tour.
"It's sweet," the 30-year-old Turnesa said after finishing the event at 25-under-par 263, a stroke ahead of Matt Kuchar, who shot a final-round 67.
It was a tough back nine, but I got it done somehow and it feels great," Turnesa said.
Turnesa won $738,000.
Chad Campbell (67), John Mallinger (68) and Michael Allen (70) tied for third place at 22-under-par 266.
