KAPALUA, Hawaii, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Brittany Lang and first-round leader Suzann Pettersen shared the top spot Friday after two rounds of the Kapalua Classic.

Pettersen, looking for her first victory of the year after winning five times last season, shot a 72 on the Bay Course of the Kapalua Resort and Lang fired a 71. That left them at 4-under 140.

Alena Sharp had the tournament's low 18-hole score, a 67, to jump into a crowded tie for third with Sun Young Yoo, Laura Diaz, Jee Young Lee, Ji Young Oh and Il Mi Chung.

Lorena Ochoa, a winner seven times this season while protecting her No. 1 world ranking, shot a 69 to jump into a share of 11th place at 143.

Sharp made seven birdies Friday as part of her 67. Three of the birdies came on par-3 holes.
