Report: McCargo fails physical

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Defensive tackle John McCargo has failed a physical, thus voiding his trade from Buffalo to the Indianapolis Colts, The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday.

Indianapolis had worked out a deadline-beating trade for McCargo, who was taken with the 26th pick in the 2006 draft. The Colts need defensive line help, having lost tackles Quinn Pitcock and Ed Johnson to injury this season.

The report said the problem for McCargo involved his back and that he would return to Buffalo. McCargo has appeared in 25 games over two seasons and has recorded 2.5 sacks this year.
