Sean Smith had returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown and Aiona Key blocked a punt and ran it in for a TD for Utah, which has won 15 of its last 16 games.

Karsten Sween started at quarterback for Wyoming (2-5, 0-4), but was pulled after completing 8-of-18 passes for 52 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. Chris Stutzriem threw a fourth-quarter touchdown to Greg Bolling, which helped the Cowboys avoid their third shutout in four games.
