NHL: St. Louis 5, Nashville 2

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Keith Tkachuk scored twice and the St. Louis Blues produced four power-play goals Friday in rolling past Nashville 5-2.

Barret Jackman, Brad Boyes and David Backes all had a goal for the Blues, who opened the season with a win for the first time in 12 years.

Manny Legace stopped 20 of 22 shots for the Blues.

Joel Ward and Ryan Suter scored for Nashville, which made the playoffs last season for the fourth straight year.

St. Louis overcame an early 1-0 deficit on goals by Tkachuk and Jackman just 33 seconds apart.
