CONCORD, N.C., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Heavy rains in Concord, N.C., Thursday forced a cancellation of qualifying for Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Bank of America 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Points leader Jimmie Johnson, who has won five times on this track, will start on the pole. Johnson has a 72-point lead over Carl Edwards in the race for the Sprint Cup championship.

Edwards will start on the outside of Row 1, followed by Greg Biffle, Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick.
