STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Dany Heatley scored two goals and Alex Auld just missed a shutout Sunday before Ottawa completed a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Stockholm, Sweden.
The result gave the teams a split in their season-opening series. Pittsburgh won Saturday's opener 4-3 in overtime.
Heatley fired in goals with 6:53 left in the second period and 7:43 remaining in the third.
Antoine Vermette added a goal with just over 4 minutes to play, putting Ottawa ahead 3-0.
Pittsburgh's Alex Goligoski scored with 7 seconds left in the contest, spoiling Auld's shutout bid.
Auld finished with 30 saves. Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury allowed the three Ottawa goals and blocked 24 shots.
