WASHINGTON, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Alecko Eskandarian had a goal and an assist Saturday, leading Chivas USA's 3-0 win over D.C. United.

Eskandarian's fifth goal this season staked Chivas to a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. He assisted on a goal by Sasha Victorine in the 56th minute.

Dejair, playing in his first MLS game, capped the shutout with a goal in the 68th minute.

Chivas has won every game this season in which Eskandarian has scored.

Chivas (11-10-6) occupies second place in the Western Conference behind Houston.

D.C. United (10-14-3) saw its winless streak to grow to six straight games. United played without its two leading scorers, Luciano Emilio (hamstring strain) and Jaime Moreno (suspension).

United has not won since Aug. 23, but maintained its faint playoff hopes when Toronto FC registered a 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls Saturday.
