TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- No. 4 seed Sabine Lisicki knocked off top-seeded Peng Shuai in one semifinal Saturday at the Tashkent Open at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The scores were 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 on the hard courts at the Tashkent Tennis Centre.

The 19-year-old German will attempt to win her first career final Sunday against third-seeded Sorana Cirstea of Romania, who won her match in a walkover when Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova, the fifth seed, retired because of fatigue.
Cristea had won the first set 6-3 before Rybarikova decided she was unable to continue.
Like Lisicki, Cristea will try to get her first career title.
The Lisicki-Cristea winner in Sunday's final will collect a $22,925 champion's check.
