WNBA: Detroit 75, New York 73

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Deanna Nolan scored 23 points Monday to lead Detroit past New York 75-73 in the deciding Game 3 of the WNBA Eastern Conference finals.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 19 points and eight rebounds for Detroit, which advances to meet San Antonio in the WNBA Finals starting Wednesday in San Antonio. Katie Smith added 16 points for Detroit, the 2006 champions, who will be appearing in the WNBA Finals for the third straight year.

Janel McCarville scored 21 points for New York, which nearly rallied from a 19-point halftime deficit.
