ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Scott Feldman gave up two runs -- one earned -- and five hits in six innings Saturday to boost the Texas Rangers to an 8-4 win over the LA Angels.
Feldman (6-8) struck out only two batters, but by throwing 59 of his 82 pitches for strikes, he was able to prevent a big inning by one of baseball's best offensive teams.
Nelson Cruz hit a two-run second inning homer, Chris Davis hit a second-inning solo homer and Josh Hamilton hit a two-run sixth-inning single for the Rangers who have won four straight games.
Joaquin Arias had three hits and one RBI, while the Michael Young added one RBI for the Rangers.
Juan Rivera, Jeff Mathis and Erick Aybar all had two hits for the AL West champion Angels, who have clinched home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and will face Boston in the first round.
The losing pitcher was starter Ervin Santana (16-7).
