SEATTLE, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Rob Johnson's two-run homer finished off the second of Seattle's five-run innings Friday and the Mariners out-slugged Oakland 10-8.
John Lopez hit a three-run home run as part of Seattle's five-run third and Johnson's blast came in the fifth while the Mariners were building a 10-6 lead. Lopez also hit a solo homer in the fifth.
Brandon Morrow (3-4) was the beneficiary of the big innings. He got the win despite giving up six runs on six hits over five innings. Morrow struck out eight.
Roy Corcoran gave up a run in the ninth, but picked up his third save.
Sean Gallagher (5-7) absorbed the loss, allowing eight runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3.
