MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Ryan Shealy's two-run bloop single Saturday led Kansas City to a 4-2 win over Minnesota, dropping the Twins into a first-place AL Central tie with Chicago.

Mark Teahen and Mike Aviles knocked in one run each, and three others had two hits for the Royals, who have won five straight and 13 of their last 15 games.

Winning pitcher Gil Meche (14-11) gave up two runs -- one earned -- and seven hits in six innings with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Closer Joakim Soria, the last of four pitchers, earned his 42nd save this season.

Minnesota's Brendan Harris and Joe Mauer both had one RBI.

Eight players had one hit in the Twins' second straight loss following a four-game winning streak, including three against the White Sox, that vaulted them into first place in the division.

Minnesota starter Glen Perkins gave up just one run in five innings before giving way to Boof Bonser, who allowed another run. Matt Guerrier (6-9) was tagged with the loss after allowing the two base-runners Shealy drove in off Jesse Crain, snapping a 2-2 tie in the seventh.

Chicago faced Cleveland Saturday night.
